"There was once the Jetset - a bunch of international hedonists for whom travel was just another form of conspicuous consumption. Now, there is the GYPSET, a global tribe of knowing nomads who go wherever the wanderlust leads them - because that is what makes life feel zesty and fun."
I found this quote in Pure St Barth Magazine #11 a few months ago and it truly resonated with me. Wine makes life zesty and fun. If given the option, why should anyone ever settle for second-rate, uninspired, gets-the-job-done wine? Enter, Gypset Vino.
At the time I was enjoying a lovely glass of rosé that tasted just like provence. Cool, refreshing minerality and a bright reflective, rosey pale pink hue. My mind was immediately taken to stunning Cote d'Azur views, cypress trees, the smell of the garrique, rows and rows vines waiting to be harvested and the impossibly blue ocean-side. Deep house beats or mysterious french hits on the radio. Carefree and easy. Bikini season.
And sometimes, rosé just tastes like wine in my glass. Wine that adds umami to my meal, laughter to a good time or relaxation on a long or lazy day.
While admittedly I’m a wine geek and enjoy savoring things like 'garrique' in a glass of wine, I also believe wine should be about experiences. Savoring a sip can commemorate something new or take you back to a revered previous experience just by popping the cork. When or where were you last time you had that XYZ bottle? Was it a great night?
For the rest of my life, I will never again open a bottle of my favorite rosé, Chateau Barbeyrolles, and not think back to my wedding day. Exhilarated feelings. The playlist. Our friends. Or the phenomenal evening my husband & I spent at the Chateau Barbeyrolles estate in Provence (by chance) just months after our wedding! I really, REALLY love Chateau Barbeyrolles.
Now envision drinking a sommelier curated wine specifically selected for the very moment you're enjoying it. Are you ever going to forget the wine you served on your wedding day? Or at the event commemorating a recent success? Or that one Thanksgiving when everyone drank too much and had an all-ages dance party to Michael Jackson's top hits? True story. And obviously because the wine served was THAT good!
Wine = Experiences. Wine offers the unique experience of 'going' somewhere without ever having to leave your seat. End conspicuous wine consumption. Experience curated wine for your curated life. #gypsetvino
Cheers,
